The Arlington Police Department responded to an injured person call in the 900 block of Benge Drive around 4:36 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2020. When officers arrived, they located a 16-year old male teenager with an apparent gunshot wound. The teen was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The suspect, a male juvenile, was taken into custody without incident and charged with murder. Because of the suspect's age, state confidentiality laws prevent the public release of his name.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Arlington Police Detective Grant Gildon at 817.459.5691. Tipsters can also remain anonymous by contacting Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817.469.TIPS. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once next of kin have been notified. Investigators are also working with the Arlington Independent School District based upon information that the teen is enrolled in their school system.
