City, Rangers Celebrate Globe Life Field in Final Edition of Award-Winning ‘Home Plate Update’
With the 2020 World Series in the books, the recently opened Globe Life Field is gearing up for cowboys, Christmas lights and concerts as part of the upcoming 2020 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, Luminova Holidays, and For King and Country’s A Drummer Boy Drive-In performances.
These are among the latest major events announced for the climate-controlled, 40,000-seat ballpark, which opened in The American Dream City this summer. Though delayed nearly four months because of the coronavirus pandemic, the City of Arlington and Rangers celebrated the opening of the $1.2 billion retractable roof ballpark for the first Rangers’ inaugural season in July.
Since then, the list of events announced for the new ballpark continues to grow. Globe Life Field in Arlington is helping furthering the city’s reputation as a national leader in cultural arts, innovation, sports and entertainment, Mayor Jeff Williams said.
“Throughout Arlington’s history, there has been no hurdle too high, no obstacle we could not overcome and no opportunity left unseized. This ballpark is another example of Arlington’s ability to dream big and accomplish ‘big dreams together,’” Williams said.
