Fatality Crash - Report #2022-03550096

On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at approximately 7:57 a.m., the Arlington Police Department, Arlington EMS, and Arlington Fire Department responded to the intersection of the 400 Blk. N. Oak St. at W. North St. to investigate a collision between two vehicles.

Investigators determined a Chevrolet Malibu was traveling southbound on N. Oak St. approaching the intersection of W. North St. Witnesses told the investigating officer that the window of the Malibu was partially obscured as the driver ran the stop sign. A Mercedes Metris van was traveling westbound through the intersection on North St. The driver of the Malibu failed to stop for the stop sign and entered the intersection, striking the side of the van. The impact of the crash caused an injury to the driver of the Malibu, who sadly was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the van was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The intersection was closed for approximately 3 hours while the investigation was completed.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the deceased as Kristian E. Alvarado a 29-year-old male from Arlington.
