Alaisha Brown, a senior on Bowie High School’s girls basketball team, has been selected as the City of Arlington’s Student-Athlete of the Month for December 2022.
Brown leads the Lady Vols in just about every statistical category: points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. Recently, she surpassed 1,000 career points at Bowie and was named TABC All-Region her junior year.
“She gets in the gym on her own time,” Bowie Girls Head Basketball Coach Kelly Carruthers said. “She’ll call me even on the weekends and ask, ‘Hey Coach, can I get in the gym?’. She works on her craft and I think that’s a huge component to being a successful student-athlete.”
Brown, whose favorite subject is English, has received multiple offers to play basketball in college where she plans to major in Hospitality and Tourism.
