Free Mammograms, Well Woman Exams, Flu and Covid-19 Vaccines and More Available at Oct. 14 Health Fair in Arlington
Are you an Arlington resident in need a mammogram, well woman exam, or flu and Covid-19 vaccines? City Council District 3 Representative Nikkie Hunter is hosting a free Breast Cancer Awareness Health Fair that is open to the public.
The community event, which also includes other health and wellness information as well as food trucks, is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 at the Bob Duncan Center, 2800 S. Center St. Covid-19 boosters and flu shots will be provided by Tarrant County Public Health, Mansfield Methodist and the Arlington Fire Department.
“Flu season is here. We will have several opportunities for people to get their vaccinations, so we have you covered,” Hunter said.
With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Hunter also said the free event is a great opportunity for women who may have delayed scheduling their mammograms.
“My goal for this event is to turn the Bob Duncan Center pink, and I encourage any resident needing these services to come out,” Hunter said. “I was a little bit late getting a mammogram myself due to the pandemic. I know I’m not the only person.”
Because well woman exams and mammograms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis during the event, residents interested in those offerings are asked to pre-register online. Click here to pre-register.
Health Fair participants include Texas Health Resources, Mansfield Methodist, Moncrief Medical Center, Carter Blood Care, the Arlington Fire Department, American Heart Association, Metroplex Women’s Clinic, Solis Mammograms, Alzheimer’s Association, Active Family Wellness Center and Tricare Chiropractor.
This event is generously sponsored by the Canales Family, Ben Thanh Plaza, Judge Mary Tom Curnutt, City Council District 6 At-Large Representative Long Pham and Hao Pham, former City Council Representative Roxanne Thalman, New Beginnings With Shen Reality Group, Bowie and Leslie Hogg, Andrew and Anna Piel, Andy and Julie Nguyen, Anne and Gary Coker, Gina and Tim Woodlee, Cindy Golden and John and Mary Hibbs.
