Emergency Cold Weather Shelter

In freezing temperatures, the Arlington Life Shelter and The Salvation Army both serve as inclement weather shelters for homeless individuals in Arlington. The City of Arlington’s Homeless Emergency Cold Weather Shelter plan is activated on days when temperatures reach 39 degrees or below for four or more consecutive hours overnight.

Inclement Weather Shelters

Arlington Life Shelter

• 325 W. Division St., Arlington, TX 76011
• Intake starts at 2 p.m. and goes until 5 p.m.
• Guests should enter through the entrance located on the east side of the building
• IDs are required – Exceptions are police drop offs
• Meals will be served
• The main number is 817-548-9885 ext. 3312

The Salvation Army

• 712 W. Abram St., Arlington TX 76013
• Intake shall begin at 7 p.m. and go through 10 p.m.
• Exceptions will be made for drop offs by the Arlington Police Department
• Meals will be served

All Arlington Library locations are open for warming during standard operating hours.

• Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Friday & Saturday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
