The Public Works Department’s Stormwater Management Division is pleased to announce that the 2022 Outfall Improvements project is scheduled to begin in November 2024. This project consists of drainage maintenance to improve the drainage channel and infrastructure in your neighborhood.
This construction project will be completed at four different locations including: Estates Above Wimbledon Outfall, Lake Country Outfalls, Oak Gate Outfall, Washington Drive.

This project, which is estimated to be completed by November 2025, includes the following improvements:
Estates Above Wimbledon Outfall
- Channel stabilization to reduce erosion threatening the storm drain outfall to Rush Creek, Tributary 10.3 between Wareham Drive and Bridgewater Drive.
Lake Country Outfalls
- Reconstruction of three (3) storm drain outfalls into Stream VC(A)-1 between W. Lamar Boulevard and N.W. Green Oaks Boulevard.
Oak Gate Outfall
- Maintenance of the existing failed concrete channel and mitigation of erosion at the transition to a natural creek in Stream Kee Branch, Tributary 1 near Oak Gate Court, and Oldfield Drive.
Washington Drive
- Maintenance of previous channel improvements and erosion mitigation near stream West Fork Tributary 1 north of Washington Drive.
This project is part of the City’s efforts to improve stormwater infrastructure in Arlington.
Residents interested in learning more about this project are invited to participate in an informational meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library in the [re]Brary Room, located at 100 S. Center St., Arlington, Texas 76010. There will be a short presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.
The City of Arlington’s Stormwater Management program includes construction of new drainage projects, maintenance of the existing drainage systems, floodplain management, environmental protection, and community outreach.
