City to Begin Storm Drain System Improvements in Three Locations

Public Meeting Notice

The Public Works Department’s Stormwater Management Division is pleased to announce the construction of the 2020 Stormwater Maintenance Project, to improve the drainage in your neighborhood.

This construction project will be completed at three different locations including: Blake Aston Drive, Tennyson Drive, and Westview Channel.

This project, which is estimated to be completed in July 2025, includes the following improvements:

Blake Aston Drive

  • Maintenance and improvement of storm drain system from Blake Ashton Drive to Russell Curry Road south of Fox Chase Drive.
  • Replacement of the flume, pipe, and inlet south of Blake Ashton Drive.
  • Rehabilitation of the storm drain and construction of junction boxes for access between Blake Ashton Drive and Russell Curry Road.
  • Replacement of private vegetation and fencing disturbed by construction.

Tennyson Drive

  • Maintenance and improvement of storm drain system from Tennyson Drive to W. Second Street.
  • Replacement of water and sanitary sewer lines affected by construction.
  • Repaving of Wellington Court cul-de-sac, a portion of Westview Terrace, and a portion of W Second Street due to stormwater upgrades.

Westview Channel

  • Repairing previously installed erosion protection along vulnerable sections of Westview Channel between Westview Terrace and Briarwood Boulevard.

This project is part of the City’s efforts to minimize neighborhood flooding and improve drainage infrastructure in Arlington.

Residents interested in learning more about this project are invited to participate in an informational meeting on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, at 6 p.m. at the South District Service Center located at 1030 SW Green Oaks Boulevard, Arlington, Texas 76017. There will be a short presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.
