The Arlington Police Department is investigating a wreck that resulted in the death of a 56-year-old man.
On Thursday, January 2, 2025, at approximately 7:34 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Cravens Park Drive and SE Green Oaks Boulevard to investigate a two-vehicle crash.
When they arrived on scene, they found the 56-year-old man unconscious in his vehicle, a 2012 Lexus sedan. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased from his injuries.
Investigators determined the man was in the westbound lanes of SE Green Oaks Blvd and attempting to turn left onto Cravens Park Drive when his vehicle was struck by a 2017 Mercedes E43 that was traveling eastbound along SE Green Oaks Blvd. The impact caused the Lexus to spin out and strike a brick wall.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 31-year-old man, was also transported to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Crash investigators believe speed was a factor in the collision. They also determined the driver of the Lexus was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased.
