Dog of the Week - Meet Velvet
This nearly seven months old female Pit Bull Terrier mix is tan and black in color and weighs 27 pounds. Velvet is a young pup who has been patiently waiting for her forever home since early October. At just 27 pounds, she’s still growing and will likely settle into a medium-to-smaller large size once she finds her full form. This clever girl thrives on learning and loves having a task to focus on. Highly treat-motivated, she is eager to please and has already mastered “sit” with the promise of a tasty reward. She listens attentively for the squeak of a toy and watches intently for her next cue, always ready to earn her treats through hard work and charm. While Velvet is a quick learner, she’s still refining her manners and commands, making her a great match for an adopter who enjoys training and bonding with their dog. Due to her length of time in the shelter VIP status with a reduced adoption fee has been achieved. Meet Velvet at Dog Adoptions (DA) 8, her ID number is A57062374.
Second Dog of the Week - Meet Lizzie
This two years two months old female Pit Bull Terrier mix is black and white in color and weighs 43 pounds. Lizzie is a sweet and curious girl who has been patiently waiting at the shelter for over 50 days. At 43 pounds, she’s fully grown and has a calm, mature presence that sets her apart from younger pups. While a bit more timid at first, Lizzie is friendly and warms up quickly with a little patience and kindness. Her cautious nature shines on walks, where she often pauses to make sure her companion is still by her side. This endearing habit is her way of staying connected but can lead to a bit of stumbling by a companion who isn't watching her closely. Lizzie has tested as heartworm positive so her new adopting family will need to follow up on heartworm treatment allowing her to live out her best life. VIP status has been designated due to her length of time in the shelter. Meet Lizzie in Dog Adoptions (DA) 16, her ID number is A57066572.
Adoption fees include all core vaccinations, alteration and microchip.
