The City of Arlington received three first place awards for Social Media Campaign – Taylor Swift (Arlington’s Version), Campaign Outreach to a Diverse Audience or Multicultural Campaign – Budget Bites en Espanol and Multi-Image Photography – World Series Parade Photography.

Arlington Director of Communication and Legislative Affairs Jay Warren was named the 2024 Communicator of the Year by the City County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA) at its annual national conference held Sept. 4-6 at the Loews Arlington Hotel & Convention Center.

Warren was honored as the Communicator of the Year through a competitive nomination process, and his leadership in 3CMA, The Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers and numerous local organizations were among the reasons he was chosen as this year’s recipient.

“Jay’s creativity, leadership, and dedication to inclusivity have set him apart as an innovator in government communications,” said Molly Fox, President of TAMIO. “His contributions have had a lasting impact on both the City of Arlington and the broader communication community.”

In addition to Warren’s individual award, the City of Arlington’s Office of Communication was honored with 11 awards – the most in the nation – in the organization’s annual Savvy Awards program. The Savvy Awards recognize outstanding local government achievements in communications, public-sector marketing and citizen-government relationships.

The Savvies salute skilled and effective city, county, agency or district professionals who have creatively planned and carried out successful innovations in communications and marketing. 3CMA accommodates local government organizations of all sizes and budget classes by judging entries in several different population groups.

There were more than 1,100 entries from more than 400 different organizations in this year’s awards program. The City of Arlington brought home the following national awards:
