The Arlington Police Department has made an arrest in connection to an ongoing sexual assault investigation and is asking the public for any additional information they may have.

The suspect, 51-year-old Ronnie Goines, turned himself in at the Tarrant County Jail on Thursday, July 25, 2024 after the APD Sex Crimes Unit obtained two warrants for his arrest on one count of Indecent Assault and one count of Sexual Assault.

Due to the nature of the case, the department will be limited in the details it can release publicly. In June, an adult female made an outcry that was reported to the department. Following a thorough investigation, detectives, in consultation with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, moved forward with filing criminal charges against Mr. Goines.

As a matter of transparency, the department can confirm Mr. Goines previously served on the City of Arlington’s Unity Council and is a former member of APD’s Arlington Clergy and Police Partnership (ACAPP) program.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call Detective Williams at (817) 459-5312.
