Terry Brock, a senior on Sam Houston High School’s boys basketball team, has been selected as the City of Arlington’s Student-Athlete of the Month for January 2024.
Brock, a two-year captain for the Texans, tells himself three things every time he steps onto the court: be grateful, be happy and be you.
“I enjoy having young men on the basketball team that strive academically and not just athletically,” said Darius Williams, Sam Houston head boys basketball coach. “Terry does a wonderful job of being a well-rounded young man.”
Brock, whose favorite subject is sociology, plans on continuing his basketball career at a Historical Black College or University (HBCU) and major in business.
