Check out the latest construction photos of the new Arlington ISD Arts and Athletics Complex, home to the future Center for Visual and Performing Arts and the Athletics Center. Specifically, significant progress has been made since last month’s video tour, like the installation of the arena floor and the removal of scaffolding in the concert hall.
Moreover, the Center for Visual and Performing Arts is dried-in, has permanent power and the air conditioning is on. The high ceilings are almost all complete now, and the concrete floors in the visual arts area are being polished. In the concert hall and theater, construction crews are working on the sloped floors and steps. The administration offices and the visual arts, keyboarding and instrument repair classrooms are being painted and the ceilings installed.
The Athletic Center is also dried-in, it has permanent power and the air conditioning is on. The arena wood floor has been installed and is acclimating. In the natatorium, the pool liner and bulkhead are being installed and the seats are going in. The pool will be filled with water in a couple of weeks.
Outside, the courtyard sidewalks between the two buildings are complete and irrigation and landscaping are being put in now.
These two facilities mark the completion of the 2014 bond package approved by Arlington voters in 2014.
