CARES Act in Action

As the City of Arlington receives and deploys CARES Act funds, the CARES Act in Action series will take a closer look into how Arlington is using its portion to serve, support and protect Arlington residents and businesses.

Up to $1,003,600 is available for organizations providing direct response to COVID-19 including transportation, food, meal delivery, childcare, and job skills training. The City has released a request for proposals (RFP) for non-profit organizations to apply for CDBG CARES act funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The RFP is open to all organizations providing essential services to low- and moderate-income Arlington residents, as a part of the three-phase approach to using Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.

Applications are due May 22, 2020. Funds are available to current CDBG sub-recipients and new applicants. For more information or questions, email [email protected].

The City of Arlington continues to monitor relief efforts enacted by Congress that can continue to support the Arlington economy. For more information on assistance programs and resources in Arlington, visit www.arlingtontx.gov/coronavirus.
