Dog* of the Week – Meet Matthau

This ten year old Pit Bull Terrier mix is tan and white in color and weighs 51 pounds. Matthau, named after actor Walter Matthau, does not fit the description of a "grumpy old man"; he's more like a sweet, "old man"! He's mild mannered and loves exploring his outside surroundings at his own pace. He's content to find a comfortable spot and watch the rest of the world go by. If someone is next to him during his contemplation, he appreciates being petted. Matthau is on a journey to find a "furever" home where he would love to have a soft, warm bed to call his own. A pet guardian that will lavish him with love is desirable as well. He would probably do best in a quiet environment with all adults. Currently, pet adoptions are being handled by appointment only. Matthau is in Dog Adoptions (DA) 9, with ID number 44142637. Call 817-575-8128 and provide Matthau’s ID number to schedule an appointment to meet.

Dog of the Week – Meet Shakira

Shakira is our second chosen dog of the week. This three year, one month old female Alaskan Husky is brown, cream and black in color and weighs 53 pounds. Not many dogs have beautiful eyes likes yours, Shakira – blue  and one brown. It really sets her apart. She is very active and loves to play. Treat motivation helps to get her to "sit" on command, but only after expending her pent-up energy. Huskies crave exercise and lots of it, making her a great companion for a hiker or those who love jogging. Perhaps she could even carry your cell phone and water bottle! Shakira is looking for an active family to adopt her providing her ample exercise opportunities and lots of love as well. Shakira is in Dog Adoptions (DA) 8, with ID number 44111162. Currently, pet adoptions are being handled by appointment only. Call 817-575-8128 and provide Shakira’s ID number to schedule an appointment to meet.

Adoption fees include all core vaccinations, alteration, microchip and 30 days free pet insurance.

*At the time of this publication, there were no cats available for adoption.
