The Texas Rangers baseball and the inaugural season at the new Globe Life Field is just one of many events across the country temporarily postponed in the interest of protecting public health during the coronavirus outbreak.

Though fans will have to wait to watch their first game at Globe Life Field, they can get the inside scoop about the climate-controlled, retractable-roof ballpark inside the latest edition of the national and state award-winning Home Plate Update.

This 11th edition features news about concessions items, the unveiling of the Pudge Rodriguez statue, the ballpark’s Super Flush to test the readiness of its plumbing system as well as future hotel, convention center, restaurant, office and living development planned around the ballpark.

Additionally, you can catch entertaining new episodes of the award-winning At the Park with Chuck, a series on MyArlingtonTV hosted by Rangers’ PA announcer Chuck Morgan.

Home Plate Update is a joint project by the City of Arlington’s Office of Communications and the Texas Rangers. This quarterly publication is dedicated to informing citizens about everything happening with the Globe Life Field project and the adjacent Texas Live! development. Every edition will be produced in a digital format, allowing for layers of additional content like videos, graphics, links to websites and project documents, and other supporting materials.

In 2018, Home Plate Update received the highest award from the national organization, City-County Communications: Marketing Association, or 3CMA in the E-Newsletter category. The publication also received top honors by the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers, which awarded the City of Arlington a TAMI Award in the Tech Services – Electronic Newsletter or Magazine category.
