On Friday, September 18, 2020 at approximately 1:44 a.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a major crash involving a single vehicle in the 1900 block of East Mayfield Road. Investigators believe the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a tree. The driver, a sole occupant inside the vehicle, was not wearing a seat-belt and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators have not ruled out speed as a possible contributing factor in this crash.
The deceased will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once the next of kin have been notified.
