On Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 3:09 a.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a major crash in the 3500 block of E. Division Street involving two motorcycles.

Investigators believe two motorcycle operators were traveling together eastbound on Division Street approaching Great Southwest Parkway. Detectives believe that the second motorcycle was traveling behind the first motorcycle. As the first motorcycle operator began slowing for a red signal light, the second motorcycle struck him from behind causing both operators to become ejected from their motorcycles.

Both operators were transported to a local hospital due to injuries.

The motorcycle operator who rear-ended the first motorcycle was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. The deceased was a 50-year old man.

The other operator is expected to survive. It is believed both subjects knew each other and were co-workers.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
