Council Update

The Arlington City Council voted March 24, 2020, to postpone the May 2 general and special elections until Nov. 3, 2020, in the interest of protecting public health during the coronavirus outbreak. The City Council may consider hosting the general and special elections on an earlier date if Gov. Abbott authorizes local governments to hold their postponed May elections prior to Nov. 3.

Earlier this month, Gov. Greg Abbott authorized local governments to postpone their May 2, 2020, elections as a measure to reduce exposure to the coronavirus and prevent the spread of the respiratory disease COVID-19.

The City of Arlington will announce additional information about the general and special elections at a later date. Click here to visit the City of Arlington's Election webpage.
