April 16, 2020 Town Hall Meeting

Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams will host a second live telephone town hall on Thursday, April 16, 2020, to answer residents’ questions about the City’s response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Those who are interested in participating in the virtual town hall meeting are asked to call 888-409-5380 at 6 p.m. to listen in for important information or to ask a question. Those who want to participate can also pre-register online up until 4 p.m. April 16 to receive a phone call when the telephone town hall begins. Click here for registration information: https://tthm.wufoo.com/forms/city-of-arlington-tx-telephone-townhall-sign-up/.

City representatives, including Fire Chief Don Crowson and Michael Jacobson, Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce president and CEO, will also be available to answer questions and provide information about the current Stay Home, Work Safe order in effect in Arlington through at least April 30, 2020. The Arlington City Council approved travel, work and public gathering restrictions as part of a joint effort with Fort Worth and Tarrant County to fight against the spread of the respiratory disease, COVID-19.

Just as during the March 31 telephone town hall, residents will be asked to leave a message for the City if they need special assistance. City staff will then reach out to those residents who indicated they needed help to learn more about what resources they might need and to refer them to the appropriate agency.

Arlington residents can learn more about support services for older adults, housing, transportation and other topics by contacting United Way Tarrant County at 2-1-1 or visiting https://www.unitedwaytarrant.org/2-1-1/.

The Aging and Disability Resource Center, which can be reached at 1-888-730-2372, can also offer free advice about meal delivery, eligibility requirements for benefits, help calling for information and referrals, understanding resident rights in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, maintaining health and helping with home safety modifications.
