It was a concert unlike any ever performed in Arlington's Entertainment District. The Texas Rangers' Concert in Your Car series began Thursday night at Globe Life Field.

The team brought in five musical acts to perform over four consecutive nights.

The Eli Young Band kicked things off Thursday with an hour-long acoustic set.

"We've been sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring," said Eli Young Band member Jon Jones. "No one has ever done a concert quite like this before."

For many attendees, this is their first time seeing the completed Globe Life Field. And while it's only from the parking lot, the concerts are a welcome change of pace for families looking for socially-distant entertainment options.

"They figured out a way to make it enjoyable for everybody," said attendee Mary-Anne Gales. "It takes you away from the reality you're facing being locked in the house. Having this as an outlet to go to makes things a lot better."

The Concert in Your Car series continues this weekend with the following acts:

  • Friday, June 5: Whiskey Myers
  • Saturday, June 6: Pat Green
  • Sunday, June 7: Josh Abbott Band & Kevin Fowler
