This year, the Best Friends National Conference is being held in Dallas on July 25-27.

In Arlington, people dream big and the idea of dramatically increasing the lifesaving efforts for animals is an achievable goal in The American Dream City.

Best Friends Animal Society is a national rescue and advocacy organization which has a mission to bring about a time when there are no more homeless pets, with a vision to better the world through kindness to animals. Arlington Animal Services has partnered with Best Friends on many occasions including assistance with treatment of heartworm positive dogs and grant programing to implement a successful TNR program which assisted AAS with the feral cat problem in our community. At Arlington Animal Services, we believe that, working with rescue partners to network, transfer, and educate ourselves and our community plays a vital role in the greater success we can have as an organization.

Each year, Best Friends Animal Society hosts a national conference which brings like-minded people together, including some of the nation's leading and cutting-edge authorities in animal welfare, to share strategies and exchange ideas to learn how we can all work together for the betterment of the animals.

This year the Best Friends National Conference is being held in Dallas, July 25-27th, and the Best Friends organization is requesting volunteers to help make the conference a success. If you are interested in learning more about how to volunteer and be a part of this national event, please visit the Best Friends webpage.

The City of Arlington and its volunteer programs work independently from Best Friends Animal Society.

Anyone interested in being a part of the Best Friends Conference or the Best Friends Organization must work directly with the Best Friends Animal Society. You are not required to be a volunteer with the City of Arlington to participate in this event. Volunteer opportunities are open to anyone over the age of 18.
