Arlington Animal Services

Arlington Animal Services is requesting the help of our citizens in the following ways:

If you recover a loose animal, you may consider fostering it yourself.

If you find an animal and elect to foster it, we recommend you take a clear photo of the animal and post it to the City’s Lost and Found Pets website in hopes of reuniting it with its owner.

Pet owners that choose to rehome their pet may visit the Rehoming Dogs and Cats website to learn more about Adopt-a-Pet.com.

Animal Services has implemented the following temporary policies and procedures while it is experiencing staffing constraints and operating with a limited crew:

RECEIVING ANIMALS

• We are unable to receive any stray or owner surrendered animals from citizen drop-offs until further notice.

• Animals transferred to approved Adoptions Placement Partners will be handled outside of the facility in the open air.

• Owner-surrendered animals will not be accepted at this time.

• Owners who are requesting euthanasia for their pet will be encouraged to visit a private veterinarian instead.

PET SURGERY

 • Pets adopted from Arlington Animal Services with an existing surgery appointment will be handled as usual through the Moritz Wellness Clinic.

We thank you for your patience and understanding. We are extremely grateful for your willingness to help the animals, staff, and your community.
