1. Food Truck Friday Lunch Series

Join the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department this Friday for Food Truck Lunches between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Levitt Pavilion, 100 W. Abram St. The lunch series runs every Friday through November 2. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets to the food truck events, as seating is limited. 2. The Adventures of Nate the Great at Theatre Arlington

The Adventures of Nate the Great is a spoof of "B" movie mysteries. It's a perspective of a child's vision of life's everyday mysteries-when past, present and future all combine to create a wonderful Now. The show opens this Friday and runs through Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Theatre Arlington. Appropriate for audiences ages 3 and up.

The performance schedule is included below:

  • Friday at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday at 2 & 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday at 2 p.m.

3. Fright Fest at Six Flags Over Texas

Fright Fest, presented by SNICKERS®, is back for select days through October 31, 2018 at Six Flags Over Texas in The American Dream City. The park will also be open this weekend for guests to enjoy their favorite coasters and attractions, including the ultimate Super-Villain thrill ride-HARLEY QUINN Spinsanity. The park's operating hours are from 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. 4. Haggard & Jones at Arlington Music Hall

Sons of the late country music legend Merle Ben Haggard, Ben & Noel Haggard will perform this Friday at Arlington Music Hall in Downtown at 7:30 p.m. Ben is Merle's youngest son. Ben began playing with the strangers at the age of 15 and toured with his father Merle Haggard playing lead guitar. Noel Haggard got a record deal with Atlantic Records and released his debut album, One Lifetime, in 1997. Residents and visitors can purchase tickets online or call the box office at 817-226-4400.

5. Viridian Fall Fest

Pumpkins, puppies and a petting zoo are just some of the autumnal activities people will enjoy at this year's Viridian Fall Fest, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20. The free event takes place at the Viridian Lake Club, 1200 Viridian Park Lane. Favorites such as the pumpkin patch and the Artisan Market are returning. New this year will be a Pup & Pilates class for charity. Rounding out the day will be the petting zoo, face painters and food truck fare. The event is open to the public. 6. Live Acoustic Show by BillyWade at Legal Draft Beer Co.

Enjoy a great venue and the live music of BillyWade this Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Legal Draft Beer Co. from 1-4 p.m. BillyWade is the singer/songwriter duo of Wade Johnson and Billy Kirby. Guests can catch them performing both original music and remakes of rare covers. The venue is located at 500 E Division St, Arlington, TX 76011 in Downtown. 7. George W. Hawkes Downtown Library

Bring the family out to enjoy the new George W. Hawkes Downtown Library this weekend, with multiple events planned for all ages! Teens ages 13-18 are invited to come to the library for Putt Putt in the Library on Friday, October 19 at 5 p.m. Teens can come hang out at the Downtown Library, play video games, check out a study room, make something in the makerspace, or just chill with friends during Teen Zone on Friday, October 19 from 4-6 p.m. and on Saturday from 12-6 p.m. Please visit www.arlingtonlibrary.org for a complete calendar of events and activities.

8. Live Music at Texas Live!

Check out live music this weekend at Texas Live!, the new $250 million world-class dining, entertainment and hospitality district located near the Rangers' Globe Life Park and Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in The American Dream City. Arlington Backyard, a 5,000-capacity outdoor event pavilion, is expected to host more than 250 events annually. Papa Roach will perform at 8 p.m. at the Arlington Backyard on Friday, October 19. The College Game Day Watch Party kicks off on Saturday at 11 a.m. in front of a Texas-Sized Television and Shinyribs will perform at 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Arlington Backyard. 9. Live Music at Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club

Head over to Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club in Downtown Arlington for live music this weekend. On Friday, October 19, enjoy Americana artist Kyle Redd at 9 p.m. His current album "Kyle Redd" was recorded at Wavelight Studios in Handley, TX and released in March 2011. Devin Leigh takes the stage at 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 20. His solo work is a mixture of rockabilly, country, blues, and southern rock, infused with fiery guitar. Grease Monkey is located at 200 N Mesquite St, Arlington, TX 76011.

10. Live Music at J.R. Bentley's

Check out live music with T-Bone & Jughead this Friday, October 19, 2018 at J.R. Bentley's in Downtown Arlington. The show starts at 8 p.m. Situated in a historic home, J.R. Bentley's has the feel of an authentic English pub and features several local and area bands throughout the year. The venue is located at 406 W Abram St, Arlington, TX 76010.
