6th Annual Art on the Greene Arts Festival

The 6th annual art festival, scheduled for May 26 to May 28 at Richard Greene Linear Park, will feature more than 100 national, regional and local artists showcasing and selling their work. Visitors are invited to take a stroll through the park to see booth after booth of one-of-a-kind works in ceramic, drawing, fiber, glass, leather, metal, photography and so much more. Festival admission and parking is free. Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to enjoy a weekend of live performances from 10 national, regional and local bands. Levitt Pavilion's 2017 Summer Concert Series

The annual summer concert series continues this Friday, May 26, 2017. Visitors will be able to attend a free concert under the stars three nights a week, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through July 23. A few artists set to hit the stage this summer include Ambrosia, La Tropa F, Reckless Kelly, Sarah Jaffe, Los TexManiacs with Flaco Jimenez and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass Band. Arlington Parks & Recreation's Food Truck Friday Dinner Series

Looking to enjoy dinner outdoors? The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department's Food Truck Fridays dinner series launches this week in north Arlington. This event will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. every Friday until June 16 at River Legacy Parks Elm Grove Pavilion, 701 NE Green Oaks Blvd. Each Friday will feature a new lineup of food trucks, allowing visitors the opportunity to taste and try out different fare. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets to the food truck events, as seating is limited. The food truck line-ups will be announced the Wednesday before each event at www.naturallyfun.org/foodtruck.

Memorial Day Weekend with Arlington Aquatics

Bad Königshofen Family Aquatic Center, Randol Mill Family Aquatic Center, and Splash Pads will open this Memorial Day weekend!

Memorial Day Weekend Pool Hours:
Saturday, May 27 from noon - 7 p.m.
Sunday, May 28 from 1 - 6 p.m.
Monday, May 29 (Memorial Day) from noon - 6 p.m.

Splash Pad Hours:
Splash Pads are open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. through Labor Day weekend. Afterwards, they will remain open only on weekends through the end of September.

Memorial Day Weekend at Six Flags Over Texas

U2 The Joshua Tree Tour will appear in Arlington at AT&T Stadium on Friday, May 26, 2017, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the band's classic album. Milton H. Greene: Women Exhibit at Arlington Museum of Art

This summer, the Arlington Museum of Art will continue its tradition of photography exhibits with Milton Greene: Women, which opened on May 13 and will run through Aug 6. "Photography has been a huge success at the Arlington Museum of Art," Hightower said. "Our two most attended exhibits, Ansel Adams and Vivian Maier, were photography exhibits. I chose Milton Greene's work because he was famous for his work with celebrities in the '50s, '60s and '70s such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Frank Sinatra." Spring Shows at UTA Planetarium

UTA Planetarium has announced its spring schedule of shows through May 28, 2017. This lineup is featured in an episode of "Culture Buzz" and includes Phantom of the Universe, a new planetarium show that unveils scientists' efforts to explore Dark Matter. The show focuses on the Large Hadron Collider, the gigantic underground particle detector which is being used to explore the inner workings of the matter. Dark Matter is invisible and we only know of its existence due to its gravitational effect. It is believed that 85 percent of the matter in the universe is Dark Matter.
