A resident favorite is back this February. Arlington Water Utilities, Tarrant Regional Water District and the Arlington Public Library will present a DIY Rainwater Harvesting class from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Lake Arlington Branch Library, 4000 W. Green Oaks Blvd. The class will be taught by instructors from the Tarrant County Master Gardeners Association.

Attendees will learn all about how to use a rain barrel to collect rainwater to water your lawn, garden, and plants. Class participants will also learn how install a rain barrel and where to place the rain barrel for optimum water collection.

While supplies last, Arlington residents can reserve a rain barrel at a discounted rate of $25 (regular $50) before coming to the in-person class. Residents who purchase rain barrels will put the finishing touches on the barrel at the conclusion of the class, before loading it into their vehicles.

To register for the class and purchase a rain barrel, please go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/diy-rainwater-harvesting-and-barrel-building-workshop-registration-228945952507.
