Ways to Honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Legacy

While the 2022 Arlington Martin Luther King Junior Four-Day Celebration is postponed to a later date, there are still ways to honor the legacy of Dr. King this MLK Day.

Residents are invited to learn more about the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Coretta Scott King, and significant moments in the Civil Rights movement through Tarrant County College’s virtual MLK Historical Timeline Exhibit

Arlington nonprofit, MetroSports Fieldhouse 501(c)(3) Youth Sports and Educational Organization hosts its 2nd Annual MLK Day Family Celebration 10:00 a.m., Monday, Jan. 17, 2022 at the University of Texas at Arlington Intramural Fields at 1100 Maverick Dr. Join in for some fellowship, food, games, music, and most of all, to celebration everything Dr. King stood for. There will be safe and fun outdoor activities, music, and games for the kids. The organization asks that you have children wear athletic gear and shoes. Also, there will be free food, supplies and additional resources while supplies last. Registration is not requested but the organization says registering allows them to ensure resource for everyone. Organized in 1989 and established as a nonprofit in 1990, the MLK Celebration Committee has been an active contributor to the community for over thirty years. The MLK Celebration Committee has given out scholarships to graduating students, donated time, and resources to the community while continuing to push forward the message and dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The committee is supported by the following organizations:
