Pets of the Week at the Arlington Animal Service

Cat of the Week – Meet Levy

Meet our cat of the week, Levy! This friendly feline is always curious and ready to see what staff and volunteers are up to in the shelter. We’ve nicknamed Levy our “people watcher” as his favorite spot is sitting perched up watching the comings and goings of the world around him! He loves playing with a string toy and of course pets from staff and volunteers are at the top of his list too! He would love a home where he can put his expert lap warming skills to great use! Levy is a VIP pet at Arlington Animal Services because he tested positive for Feline Leukemia disease. This does not mean Levy doesn’t have a lot of love left to give! This VIP kitty will require some extra TLC and needs an owner who will monitor for any signs of illness. Feline Leukemia is a manageable disease, especially while under the care of a veterinarian and loving owner! If you would like to learn more about Feline Leukemia Disease, visit our website at: www.arlingtontx.gov/felinediseases. Since Levy is a VIP Pet, he can be adopted for just $10! Meet Levy in Cat Adoptions (CA) 25, his ID number is A.49156671. Don’t let this handsome boy’s VIP status turn you away from giving him a Home for the Howlidays!

Dog of the Week – Meet Madie

Every day we look at Madie and fall even more in love! With the cutest underbite, expressive up and down ears, and most loving personality, she is sure to win you over too! Madie is 4 years young and has been easy going and affectionate since the Animal Services team first came to meet her this October. She is a great walking buddy and also enjoys getting to go outside with our shelter volunteers to play in the yard! Madie has perfected sit, especially when followed by yummy treats! She is smart girl and would love a family ready to teach her all the tricks, followed by those yummy treats of course. Since coming to the shelter she’s been learning about toys and is very interested in the fun they bring while playing, but during her time out with people, this girl wants to soak up all the attention right next to her person by getting all the love and affection she can. After Madi came to the shelter we learned she tested positive for Heartworm Disease. This is a very manageable disease and there are even low cost treatment options available in the area that any shelter team member can talk with you about. We can help you learn more about heartworm disease or you can visit www.arlingtontx.gov/caninediseases to learn more. Meet Madie in Dog Adoptions (DA) 23, her ID number is A48878113. This laid back girl would love nothing more than to find her “Home for the Howlidays”, where she can snuggle and feel loved forever. Since Madi is a VIP pet she can be adopted for just $10!

Adoption fees include all core vaccinations, alteration, microchip and 30 days free pet insurance.
