The Texas Rangers return to Globe Life Field tomorrow, on Friday, August 27, to begin a six-game homestand that will conclude on Wednesday, September 1.

Houston holds a 9-3 advantage in the 2021 Lone Star Series, but the Rangers are 3-0 in the Battle for the Silver Boot at Globe Life Field, sweeping the series from May 21-23. Houston has one more trip to Arlington for four games, September 13-16.

The Rangers will host the Rockies for the second half of the homestand beginning on Monday, August 30, at 7:05 p.m., followed by games on Tuesday, August 31, at 7:05 p.m., and Wednesday, September 1, at 1:05 p.m.

This weekend the Texas Rangers will be participating in Major League Baseball’s Childhood Cancer Awareness initiative. On Friday, August 27, the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will host Make A Wish North Texas and donate all proceeds from the 50/50 Texas Two Split Raffle to the organization. Additionally, on Wednesday, September 1, all MLB teams, including the Rangers, will wear gold wristbands and jersey ribbon decals in support of children battling cancer.

On Saturday, August 28, the Texas Rangers will host the second and final Bark at the Park event this season. This Saturday’s Bark at the Park, presented by Nylabone, Pet Pride, and Kroger, is sold out. Fans and furry friends that purchased tickets will have a dedicated seating section to watch the game.

Also on August 28, the Texas Rangers Equipment Drive will have its final collection day at Globe Life Field. Fans are encouraged to bring lightly used baseball and softball equipment that will be donated to kids across North Texas, including Texas Rangers Youth Academy athletes. Donations will be accepted from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. outside Globe Life Field at the TXU Energy North Plaza, Southeast, Comerica Northeast, and Toyota Southwest Entrances before the Rangers face the Houston Astros.

On Monday, August 30, the Texas Rangers and Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will recognize the 65th anniversary of the 1956 Mansfield school desegregation incident. This Civil Rights Movement saw three Black high school students courageously seeking justice and equality in education. The sole surviving member of the Mansfield Three, Pastor Floyd S. Moody, will throw the ceremonial first pitch before Monday night’s game against the Colorado Rockies.

Pastor Moody and the Ministers Justice Coalition of Texas will use the first pitch to spread their message, Project the Positivity, throughout North Texas. Beverly Lightfoot Moody, daughter of Pastor Moody, will sing the National Anthem alongside several members of the Ministers Justice Coalition of Texas choir. All proceeds from the 50/50 Texas Two Split Raffle will be donated to the Ministers of Justice non-profit organization CityEquity.org.

Tickets for the Astros and Rockies series and all 2021 home games can be purchased at texasrangers.com, by calling 972.RANGERS, and at the Globe Life Field box office located at the Southeast entrance of the park.
