North Texas Giving DayCelebrate North Texas Giving Day online September 23, 2021, from 6a.m.-12a.m. For the first time ever, they have a presenting sponsor, Amazon! North Texas Giving Day coordinated by the Communities Foundation of Texas is an 18-hour event designed to empower residents to give back to their communities by supporting local nonprofits. In 2020 they raised $58.8 million dollars through 106,000 donors benefiting over 3,200 local nonprofits. This year their hope is to raise even more and it’s all possible with your contribution! All contributions made between 6 a.m. and midnight on September 23rd will be matched in part by the Communities Foundation of Texas.

Arlington Tomorrow Foundation 

Since 2014, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation has sponsored free community concerts and awarded grants to recognize and highlight Arlington-based nonprofit organizations. This year there will be a concert at Levitt Pavilion Arlington at 8pm featuring an a cappella gospel sextet called Take 6, for North Texas Giving Day. 

Arlington Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee Inc.

Organized in 1989 and established as a nonprofit in 1990, the MLK Celebration Committee has been an active contributor to the community for over twenty years. The MLK Celebration Committee has given out scholarships to graduating students, donated time, and resources to the community while continuing to push forward the message and dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The committee is supported by the following organizations:

  • Arlington ISD 
  • Arlington Urban Ministries 
  • Tarrant County College 
  • The City of Arlington 
  • University of Texas at Arlington

  • The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation time block grant of $5,000 during 6– 10a.m. Donations must be $25 or more to qualify for this grant opportunity. 
  • The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation People’s Choice Award $10,000 grant offered to the organization receiving the most votes via their text voting platform on September 23rd between 6:30 pm to 9 pm. One vote per cell number; votes may be made from anywhere in the world. Last year the winner of this award won with 358 votes. Let’s beat that this year!
