The Texas Rangers return to Globe Life Field for a brief three-game homestand with the Baltimore Orioles, April 16-18.

The Rangers and Orioles will play on Friday, April 16 at 7:05 p.m., Saturday, April 17 at 6:05 p.m., and Sunday, April 18 at 1:35 p.m. before the club leaves for a six-game roadtrip against the Los Angeles Angels and Chicago White Sox.

On Friday, April 16, the Rangers will commemorate the 74th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking Major League Baseball’s color barrier with the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947. The Rangers play at the Tampa Bay Rays on April 15, when all players and coaches on both teams will wear Robinson’s number 42, which was retired by Major League Baseball in 1997.

The first 14,000 fans entering Globe Life Field on Friday night will receive a Texas Rangers/Jackie Robinson Night Calendar, presented by Bally Sports Southwest. The 12-month calendar features photos of Robinson and prominent all-time Rangers African-American players. The net proceeds from Friday’s Texas 2 Split 50/50 Raffle will be donated to the Jackie Robinson Foundation. The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will also make a donation to The Players Alliance.

The Rangers will also be hosting youngsters from the Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy at Mercy Street Sports Complex presented by Toyota in West Dallas and from My Brother’s Keeper Education Program in Fort Worth at Friday’s game. Community and civic leaders from Arlington, Dallas, and Fort Worth will also be in attendance.

The National Anthem will be performed by Dallas native, singer-songwriter, and actress Jada Arnell. In-game elements will include several video presentations on the life and legacy of Jackie Robinson.

On Saturday, the first 7,000 fans entering Globe Life Field will receive a 2010 World Series First Pitch Bobblehead, presented by Globe Life. This special collector’s item features, the 41st President of the United States George H.W. Bush, the 43rd President of the United States George W. Bush, and Rangers Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan. George W. Bush was accompanied to the mound by George H.W. Bush and Nolan Ryan when he threw the ceremonial first pitch prior to Game 4 of the World Series between the Rangers and San Francisco Giants on October 31, 2010 at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The series concludes on Sunday afternoon, and the first 7,000 fans will get a Woodie Hoodie, presented by Globe Life. The hoodie features manager Chris Woodward’s jersey number 8 on the front. Blue Bell Ice Cream Sunday also takes place on April 18 with $1.00 ice cream for youngsters 13 and under.
