The City of Arlington, which is under a precautionary city-wide boil order alert for tap water that could be lifted as soon as tomorrow, received 19 pallets of bottled water provided by the Texas Department of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency on Friday, Feb. 19.

These cases of water were split among eight Arlington churches to help. Most of these churches are part of the Arlington Christian Disaster Network, a network of local faith-based organizations who have been a great partner to the City during emergencies over the years. Volunteers from Cornerstone Baptist Church, Fielder Road Baptist Church, Grace Community Church, Greater Community Baptist Church, Koinonia Christian Church, Lake Arlington Baptist Church, Pleasantview Baptist Church and Tabernacle Baptist Church quickly distributed the bottled water to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis.

American Medical Response, the City of Arlington’s contracted ambulance provider, also provided critical assistance with this effort to get bottled water into the community by transporting the cases to Arlington and lending a hand with Friday’s distribution.

This is an especially difficult time for area residents affected by the winter storms, and AMR personnel are honored to work with the City of Arlington and the Arlington Fire Department to provide aid. We live in this community, and want to do what we can to support its residents,” said Steven Dralle, AMR South Region President.
