COVID-19 Vaccine Update

The Arlington Fire Department is set to administer an additional 7,000 first-dose COVID-19 vaccines this week as part of ongoing efforts to protect public health during the coronavirus pandemic. This is in addition to the 3,000 second-dose vaccines provided to first responders and individuals on Monday.

Arlington firefighters and American Medical Response, the City’s contracted ambulance provider, have already administered nearly 23,000 first-round doses of the Moderna vaccine during the first four weeks of the large-scale vaccination effort, which is expected to last for months. The Arlington site, which serves Tarrant County and 10 other surrounding counties, is located inside a large exhibit hall at Esports Stadium Arlington + Expo Center, 1200 Ballpark Way.

The Arlington Fire Department will administer the 7,000 latest doses provided by the state starting Tuesday to individuals who have confirmed appointment times from Tarrant County Public Health. The vaccine site will remain open this week until the allotment is depleted.

Arlington is also preparing to administer second-round vaccinations next week to the 6,700 first responders and individuals who received their first vaccines at the City’s site between Jan. 5 and Jan. 8. The Fire Department will reach out by email and/or text message directly to those individuals with follow-up vaccination appointment information.

For efficiency, the Fire Department will administer second-dose vaccinations on different dates than first-dose vaccines.
Individuals who receive confirmation of a second-dose appointment next week are asked to:

1. Bring their vaccine card given at the time of the first dose
2. Arrive within their appointment time frame

Additionally, individuals who received the first dose vaccines at the Arlington site on Jan. 12 or later will be contacted by the Fire Department with information on when to return to the Esports Stadium Arlington + Expo Center. The Fire Department is scheduling second-dose vaccination dates as vaccine allotments are provided by the state.
