Starting Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, the Arlington Municipal Court will expand its online virtual court services by providing a live online court clerk via the Zoom platform.

This new service will provide additional access to the Court and help with minimizing foot traffic at the courthouse during the Covid-19 pandemic. Court clerks are not attorneys and will not be able to provide legal advice. Clerks will be available to explain processes and procedures, answer questions, and provide options for handling violations. This new program allows defendants to receive many of the same services that they would receive if they were to come to the court in person. A live virtual clerk will be available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Defendants who wish to virtually speak with a judge may send an email to the Municipal Court at [email protected]. A court clerk will respond to an email request with a date, time and instructions on how to join the virtual courtroom.

Virtual dockets are courtroom settings and defendants are expected to uphold proper decorum in their manner and dress code. These virtual walk in dockets play a vital role in ensuring access to the Municipal Court while making every effort to avoid risks to the public health.

The City of Arlington Municipal Court also remains open to the public and is following the normal business hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, closed on City holidays.

The Municipal Court continues to enforce strict social distancing and sanitation protocols in all public areas. The Court requires the use of wearing face coverings and that only defendants or attorneys with official court business appear. Please do not bring additional family or friends.
