The Public Works and Transportation Department is pleased to announce work to improve Eden Road, from Calender Road to US 287, has reached another major milestone. Construction to install box culverts under the roadway between Russell Curry and Calender Roads has been completed and this section of Eden Road will reopen to two-way traffic on Friday, Oct. 16, 2020.

On Monday, Oct. 19, 2020, construction crews will begin making drainage infrastructure improvements in the vicinity of Sublett Creek. These improvements include the installation of box culverts, which are as wide as the street itself, aimed at mitigating flooding concerns in the surrounding neighborhoods. To accommodate construction of these drainage improvements, Eden Road will be closed to ALL TRAFFIC between the northbound US 287 Frontage Road and Russell Curry Road. This closure is to be in effect through February 2021.

Other improvements planned under this project include:

• Rebuilding Eden Road from a county-type road to a three-lane undivided concrete roadway

• Installation of sidewalks

• Renewing water and sanitary sewer lines

• A hike and bike trail

• Streetlight improvements
