Some of the Library’s biggest successes have been possible due to the funding provided through FFAPL’s book sales. From raising money for the Downtown Library and other building renovations to supporting annual events like Summer Reading Club and other programming, the Friends and Foundation have helped the Library expand library services in Arlington.

The Friends and Foundation work to bring together library lovers; promote public awareness and community support, and encourage gifts and fundraising to benefit the Arlington Public Library. The Friends and Foundation formed in 2016 when the Library’s two existing support organizations merged. Previously, the Friends of the Arlington Public Library were established in 1986 and the Arlington Public Library Foundation was established in 1993.
