Homicide Investigation - Report #2020-02120086

The Arlington Police Department received numerous anonymous tips after posting images from surveillance footage on Friday evening that led to the identification of the suspect and registered owner of the vehicle.

Based upon further investigation, detectives charged 32-year old Tevin Rashad Wright with one count of Murder. He was taken into custody on Sunday near an auto parts store in North Arlington without incident.

On Thursday, July 30, 2020, at 6:28 a.m. the Arlington Police Department responded to a shooting in the 600 block of Carter Drive.


Officers located an adult male with apparent gunshot wounds who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Initial reports from witnesses indicate that there was a suspect vehicle leaving the scene after gunshots were heard in the area. Homicide detectives are actively working the case to determine what happened.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
