Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams was joined by City leaders June 18, 2020 to address a variety of current events during a telephone town hall meeting.

Topics covered include the coronavirus pandemic, disparity and equal protection in justice and equality. Mayor Williams and Interim Police Chief Jaime Ayala addressed racism in the community and steps Arlington Police are taking to engage residents and increase training.

"We are a City that cares very much for all of our citizens, especially Black Americans," said Mayor Williams. "This is a time for us to step through and make change so we can truly make a difference here."

Arlington Fire Chief Don Crowson also addressed coronavirus cases in senior care centers and steps being taken to protect vulnerable residents.

"When the virus is introduced into a nursing home, it can lead to devastating effects," Crowson said. "We're doing everything we can to keep these folks isolated and protected from the virus."

The meeting was simulcast in both Spanish and Vietnamese. Follow the links to listen to the full conversation.
