Arlington residents are invited to participate in an online survey to help decide programs and offerings at the future Active Adult Center, which is currently in the design phase.

Arlington voters approved $45 million to build the Active Adult Center in a special bond election on May 6, 2017. The city facility is expected to be built on the southwest corner of the Pierce Burch Water Treatment site, across the street from the West Police Station, on Green Oaks Boulevard between West Arkansas Lane and West Pioneer Parkway.

The survey, open through June 15, 2020, will allow the Arlington community to review the top priority programmatic elements that residents recommended when the City first conducted a feasibility study on the Active Adult Center in 2016. The survey will also allow residents to provide comments and direction on what indoor and outdoor programs and offerings should be included in the Active Adult Center design.

In the survey, programmatic elements have been grouped into Aquatics, Fitness, Sports, Recreation, Education, and Community.

During the 2016 Feasibility Study, the top 10 features requested by residents were:

  1. Indoor Track
  2. Weight/Cardio
  3. Wellness/Therapy pool
  4. Lap Pool
  5. Community Room/Events Hall
  6. Active Adult Lounge
  7. Computer Lab
  8. Aerobic/Dance
  9. Arts & Crafts
  10. Café/Juice Bar
