Restaurant Drive-Thru

Following the temporary closure of restaurant dine-in areas, Chick-fil-A at The Parks at Arlington has re-opened the restaurant in an innovative new way to serve customers: a Chick-fil-A drive-thru in the parking lot of The Parks Mall.

The temporary drive-thru service – which consists of employees taking orders on tablets similar to other Chick-fil-A locations - is an addition to the curbside and third-party delivery services the restaurant was already offering.

Chick-fil-A joins The Cheesecake Factory restaurant location and about a half dozen retail businesses in the mall that are offering curbside delivery of orders made online or by phone.

“We shifted to a temporary drive-thru and curbside delivery in an effort to continue serving our community during this time, said Brad Breedlove, Operator of Chick-fil-A The Parks at Arlington . “We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received and are excited to serve our guests in our temporary drive-thru. ”

The Parks Mall at Arlington has updated its website as the COVID-19 emergency has evolved, listing cleaning practices undertaken as well as information about which stores are still open for curbside service. Kasey Panella, associate general manager for the Parks Mall, said the website at is the best source for information.

“We’re tracking and updating the website with which stores are open and store hours. This is a fluid situation and each new day somebody might be open or they might extend their hours. So that is the best option for residents to check,” Panella says.

Entrance No. 2, just off of South Cooper Street, is the best way to reach the two restaurants, and signs are posted to lead the way. Breedlove said Chick-fil-A is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day, except Sunday. Chick-fil-A is taking added precautionary measures in the drive-thru, including limited contact ordering and wearing face protection.

Chick-fil-A is also making plans to give back to the community. On Thursday, April 9, the location is offering free meals for employees of USMD Hospital at Arlington who visit the drive thru.

“We want to thank our healthcare workers for their continued efforts to support those in need,” said Breedlove. “This giveaway is a small token of our appreciation for everything they are doing to serve our community during this time.”
