East Arlington Neighborhood Meeting Set to Discuss Animal-Related Violations

Residents who live in the 76010 ZIP code in east Arlington are invited to attend a neighborhood meeting next week to learn more about the City's efforts to reduce animal-related code violations.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 27 at Casa De Oracion, 1700 New York Avenue. Residents can learn about the Top 10 animal violations in the ZIP code, register their animal-related concerns with City of Arlington staff and learn about services provided by the City and community groups.

The Top 10 animal violations in the 76010 ZIP code include loose animals, vicious animals, cruelty and neglect and improper tethering. Between Oct. 1, 2015 and June of this year, the City received more than 700 reports of loose animals in the area and 252 calls about vicious animals, for example.

Residents who attend the meeting can learn about Trap-Neuter-Return services for feral cat populations, animal code enforcement and how to connect with resources for low-cost vaccinations, lost pets, pet grief sessions and other animal-related issues.
