Asian Olympics 2017 at UTA

This year's Asian Olympics will be held at The University of Texas at Arlington from March 17-19, 2017! This multi-sport tournament for Asian Americans is a Texas tradition that began in 1980 at the University of Texas in Austin. The games rotate between UT Austin, UT Arlington and Texas A&M. The tournament, which combines cultural awareness with competitive sports, is also known by its Vietnamese name, Đại Hội Thể Thao. The 2017 tournament, expected to draw participants from more than 15 universities, is hosted by the Vietnamese Student Association at UTA. 2017 Spring Break at Six Flags Over Texas

Relieve the stress of homework and the daily grind during Spring Break at Six Flags Over Texas in The American Dream City through March 19, 2017. Galactic Attack Virtual Reality Coaster, the park's newest virtual reality coaster, also made its debut to the general public for spring break on Thursday, March 9. Also featured at the park, will be AMP 103.7's Spring Break Out at Six Flags Over Texas on Saturday, March 18. This concert will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 18 at the Music Mill Amphitheater inside Six Flags. Tickets for the concert are $10 (plus park admission) and they can be purchased online or at the park.

"In My Life" - A Musical Tribute to The Beatles at Arlington Music Hall

The music of the Beatles -John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr -continues to stand the test of time. "In My Life - A Musical Theatre Tribute to the Beatles"will give you a fresh perspective on the band's history. The audience will see the Fab Four through the eyes of their late manager, Brian Epstein, who serves as narrator to renowned Beatles tribute band Abbey Road as they perform 33 of the group's classic hits. The concert takes place on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. CT.

The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra at Arlington Music Hall

In Big Band history, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra is recognized as one of the best all-around dance bands. Tommy Dorsey, "The Sentimental Gentleman of Swing", was a master at creating warm, sentimental, and always musical moods - at superb dancing and listening tempos. Take a journey back to the 1930s, 40s and 50s and enjoy some of his best remembered hits like "Opus One", "Song of India", "Marie", "On Treasure Island", and his biggest hit single "I'll Never Smile Again". Spring Shows at UTA Planetarium

UTA Planetarium has announced its spring schedule of shows through May 28, 2017. This lineup is featured in the latest episode of "Culture Buzz" and includes Phantom of the Universe, a new planetarium show that unveils scientists' efforts to explore Dark Matter. The show focuses on the Large Hadron Collider, the gigantic underground particle detector which is being used to explore the inner workings of the matter. Dark Matter is invisible and we only know of its existence due to its gravitational effect. It is believed that 85 percent of the matter in the universe is Dark Matter.
