 Future Downtown Library

Stripe-A-Zone and the David Sargent family have donated $50,000 to the Dream: CENTRAL capital campaign for the new George W. Hawkes Downtown Library.

With three Texas locations, Stripe-A-Zone is an industry leader in pavement marking and road striping. The company has been locally owned by the Sargent family since 1997.

David Sargent, President of Stripe-A-Zone, supports the library because he's personally enjoyed Arlington's vibrant educational system throughout his life. He attended multiple schools in The American Dream City, including Sam Houston High School and the University of Texas at Arlington, and his children grew up getting books from the Arlington Public Library.

"I want to make sure other families can enjoy the opportunities we've found in Arlington," Sargent says. "Supporting the Library is a way for us to give back to this community."

The Sargent family's donation will support the new George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, which will transform educational opportunities and civic engagement in Arlington.

The Downtown Library is currently under construction and scheduled to open to the public in summer 2018. Learn more about the project, including how you can get involved, here.
