A lot can happen in 25 minutes - a quick workout, cleaning a room, or preparing an easy meal. Parents can also take that same 25 minutes to talk with their children about safety, said the Arlington Police Department.

In honor of National Missing Children's Day, APD and the Arlington Independent School District joins the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to encourage parents and guardians to take 25 minutes to help make children safer.

Children need to know about stranger danger and the types of information that should never be shared on the Internet. By having this conversation, parents are giving their children the tools that could one day save their lives, said Police Chief Will Johnson.

On May 23, AISD Superintendent Dr. Marcelo Cavazos joined Chief Johnson at Ashworth Elementary to highlight safety as more families prepare for summer vacations.

Families are encouraged to learn more about Take 25 by visiting www.take25.org for helpful tips on how to get the conversation started.
