Pet adoptions are in focus with growing community partnerships in the City of Arlington. The city's newest pet store,Pet Supermarket® is having a grand opening celebration with festivities on Saturday, January 25 that you do not want to miss.

The new Animal Services Mobile Pet Adoption unit made possible by a $125,000 grant award from the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation will be at the celebration showcasing adorable adoptable pets from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pet Supermarket®, located at 1112 N. Fielder Road will feature three to five adoptable purr-fectly purring felines each month through a new adoptable pets program.

The Honorable Mayor Dr. Robert Cluck will present a proclamation at 11 a.m. A day filled with family-fun activities are planned with free giveaways and prizes from Pet Supermarket®, low-cost veterinarian services from the Texas Coalition of Animal Protection, a pet fashion show, and more. Turtle the Painting Pit Bull, also known as "Pitcasso" with Respect A Bull, Inc. will create a masterpiece at this entertaining event.

Be sure to stop by the Golden PAWS volunteers' table filled with handmade items such as pet toys and cozy blankets available with a donation to support AASC.

The mobile pet adoption unit will begin visiting Pet Supermarket® on the fourth Saturday of every month from 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
