New Hospital

Arlington is getting a new hospital just off Interstate 20 near The Parks at Arlington.

Construction on the $16 million Texas Rehabilitation Hospital is currently underway, and is expected to be completed next June. The 48,000-square-foot, 40-bed hospital will be dedicated to the treatment and recovery of individuals who have experienced the debilitating effects of an acute injury or illness.

This state-of-the-art facility will offer specialized treatment programs for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury or similar medical conditions.

"The Texas Rehabilitation Hospital is a great addition to the overall medical healthcare industry that is represented in Arlington. The total investment in the facility is estimated to be approximately $30 million," said Bruce Payne, Economic Development Manager at the City of Arlington.

Arlington-based Texas Health Resources and Dallas-based Methodist Health System are partnering on this multimillion dollar project. Nashville-based Center Hospital will operate the new hospital.

"This partnership shows how collaboration between medical entities can result in the provision of services that might not have occurred otherwise. That the new facility will be located in Arlington will obviously be good for the city, but also the region, as it will be very accessible to the entire Metroplex," Payne said.

The new hospital is expected to employ about 150 people when open.
