Recycling

After the holidays are over, residents and businesses are encouraged to recycle Christmas trees.

Two free drop-off locations are available from beginning Dec. 26 through January 12th:

South Arlington
Calloway's Nursery

4940 S. Cooper St.
9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
817-465-2838

Christmas trees should be loaded into one of the containers on the north side of the building during business hours only.

North Arlington
Arlington Sanitary Landfill

800 Mosier Valley Road
7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Monday through Saturday
817-354-2300

Before you recycle your Christmas tree:

  • Remove lights, ornaments and tree stands, including wooden stands and nails.
  • Do not place the tree in a plastic bag.
  • Flocked trees are acceptable for recycling.

Trees placed curbside will be collected for trash. Trees taller than 6 feet must be cut in half for trash pick-up.

Please do not take Christmas trees to the leaf recycling drop-off sites.

Free mulch from the trees will be available to residents at the landfill in the spring for gardens and landscapes.

For questions about Christmas tree recycling, call 817-459-6777.
