2014 MLK Competitions Now Open

The Arlington Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee is looking for the best artwork and scribes the city has to offer. The 2014 MLK "Sharing the Dream" Student Art and Essay Contest is now open!

This annual competition is for students attending Arlington schools or residing within the city limits of Arlington. Cash awards and scholarships will be presented to the top three winning artists and essay writers. The theme is: "Advancing the Dream-The Time is Now!" The entry deadline is Nov. 15.

About the Competitions

Every year, the Arlington Martin Luther King Jr. Committee sponsors an art and essay competition for students attending school or residing in the city limits of Arlington.

Judges look for the best in original art work and literature. This year’s theme is "Advancing the Dream-The Time is Now!"

The entry deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013. Winners will be notified in December and formally recognized in January during the Arlington MLK Awards Banquet.

Now in its 25 year, this competition is sponsored by the Arlington Independent School District, City of Arlington, UT Arlington, Tarrant County College and the Arlington Ministerial Association.
