Arlington City Council has approved the final demo and reconstruction contract for Fire Station #5 at 2921 East Randol Mill.
Fire Station #5 was built in the 1960 's and will officially close this weekend.
Residents should know that Arlington Fire Department is taking steps to keep response time impacts to a minimum in that area.
Fire Crews and equipment will be relocated to station 11 until the new Fire Station #5 is complete in 2016.
